Moses' blessing and death — a vista, not an arrival
Moses’ last act before his death was to bless the tribes of Israel one by one (Deut 33). He named each. He prayed over each. He prophesied for each. He handed off the future blessing by blessing them.
Marriages get to do this too. The years you spend tending — kids, friends, godchildren, mentees — culminate in the chance to bless the next generation. Not just provide for them. Not just teach them. Bless them by name.
Most of us never speak the blessing out loud. We assume it is felt. The Father in the Bible models something different. Speak the blessing. Name what you see. Pray it specifically.
One small thing this week: pick one person — a child, a niece, a young friend, a mentee — and bless them out loud. Specifically. With words you would want them to remember after you are gone.
