Through the lens of Woman
Moses' blessing and death — a vista, not an arrival
Deuteronomy 34 names Moses, but the women of Israel were watching from the camp.
Miriam had died in Numbers 20. Most of the women who came out of Egypt were dead by now. A new generation of women — daughters and granddaughters of the wilderness mothers — were preparing to enter the land. They watched Moses climb the mountain. They watched Joshua take up the staff. They prepared to follow.
If you are a woman watching one generation of leaders pass — your parents, your pastors, your old mentors — and a new generation rise, the Father is at work in both. He buried His servants. He raises new ones. He continues the story through His daughters as much as His sons.
The faithfulness of the women in the wilderness was carried into the land by the women of the next generation. Your faithfulness is doing the same thing.
One small thing today: name one woman in the next generation under you — a daughter, a niece, a younger friend, a mentee — and pray a Joshua-style blessing over her. Be strong and courageous. The Father is with you. The story keeps going.
