Choose life — the heart circumcised
Most of you have been trying to whip your heart into love for God.
You discipline yourself into reading the Bible. You force yourself into prayer. You manufacture worship feelings. You analyze whether you are loving Him “enough.” You have been treating the heart as something to be fixed by effort.
Deuteronomy 30:6 says — the LORD your God will circumcise your heart. The transformation is His work, not yours. The new heart is given, not built.
This does not mean passivity. The heart receives. The heart cooperates. But the cutting — the deep, painful, transforming work of making you actually love God from the inside — is not your job. It is His.
One small thing today: stop the whipping. Sit with the Father. Pray — circumcise this heart. Let Him do what only He can. Then walk forward in whatever heart He gives.
