Through the lens of Woman
Balaam — the donkey and the unwilling blessing
The most overlooked creature in Numbers 22 was given the most accurate sight. The donkey saw before the prophet.
This pattern shows up over and over in Scripture. Hagar sees God in the wilderness. Hannah hears God in the temple before Eli does. The Samaritan woman recognizes the Messiah at the well. The women see the empty tomb before any of the apostles. The Father gives outsized sight to the ones the culture overlooks.
If you have been a woman whose voice has been treated as smaller than your insight — at work, in church, at the family dinner, in conversations dominated by louder voices — Numbers 22 is for you. The donkey saw the angel. The Father is not bound by who is supposed to be speaking.
The men did not always listen. Balaam beat the donkey three times before he heard her. But the Father gave her the words. And eventually, even the prophet had to bend.
One small thing today: name one piece of seeing you have been doing that no one in your life is yet listening to. Bring it to the Father. Pray about how to speak it again. The donkey was right.
