Korah's rebellion
The deepest sin is rarely the sin you can name. It is wanting what you weren’t given.
You see the friend with the better job and you feel the bite. The cousin with the engagement ring you don’t have. The peer with the platform you wish was yours. The classmate whose parents paid for the thing yours didn’t. The serpent of Korah is alive in your scrolling.
Korah’s rebellion sounded reasonable. We’re all holy. Why are you above us? Most of our envy uses the same language. I’m just as gifted. I deserve the same shot. Why does she get that and I get this?
Christ took the opposite posture. He emptied Himself. He laid down the position He had every right to keep. He descended where Korah ascended.
You will be tempted in your twenties more than at any other time to grasp at positions the Father did not give you. The faster way up is the slower way down.
One small thing today: name one position you have been quietly wanting that the Father has not given you. Lay it down. Receive what you have actually been given. Walk in that today.
