Through the lens of Man
The twelve spies — fear and a generation lost
The Father’s description of Caleb is a phrase every man should carry in his pocket. My servant Caleb has a different spirit (Num 14:24).
In a room of twelve men where ten saw giants, one saw God. Caleb wasn’t lying about the giants. They were real. He was just seeing them next to a bigger God.
Most of the men in your life are operating on majority report. Ten voices saying be afraid, hold back, the giants are too big, retreat to safety. That’s the voice of the culture. That’s the voice of most of the men around you. That’s also the voice that lost a generation.
The man with a different spirit is rare. He is not loud. He is not naive. He just sees God next to the giants. He goes when the ten won’t. He becomes the one who leads his family, his friends, his church into what the Father had been wanting to give all along.
One small thing today: in a place where you have been listening to the majority report of fear, ask the Father for a different spirit. Caleb-style. Then take one step the ten wouldn’t take.
