Through the lens of Woman

The Day of Atonement — scapegoat and the holy place

Some women have been carrying sins for decades that Christ removed before they had ever heard His name.

The choice you made when you were nineteen. The relationship that ended badly. The sentence you said to your mother before she died. The years you weren’t a Christian. The way you raised your kids when you were younger. The thing you said to the friend you don’t talk to anymore.

You confessed it. You believed in Christ. You moved on. And the conscience never let it rest. The replay continued. The shame continued. The sense of I am still not okay continued.

Leviticus 16 says the goat walked into the wilderness. Never came back. Christ has removed those sins as far as the east is from the west. The Father is not still holding it against you. You are.

One small thing today: name one specific sin from your past that you keep carrying. Picture the scapegoat with that sin on its head walking into the wilderness. Watch it go. That is what Christ has done with it. Refuse to walk after it.
