Manna and water from the rock
You cannot store up enough trust for tomorrow. The manna rotted overnight on purpose.
You are at an age where you want to figure out the next ten years. You want a plan you can run through. You want enough security stored up that you don’t have to depend on anyone for the next thirty days. Most of the anxiety you feel is the inability to gather more than today’s portion.
Exodus 16 says — that’s the design. Not a flaw. The design.
The Father gave Israel exactly enough for one day. They had to come back for more in the morning. He was not being stingy. He was teaching them to live with Him in the present tense — not in the imagined future where they had it all figured out.
Most of your anxious days will be days you tried to gather more manna than today required. The Father was already planning to be there in the morning.
One small thing today: take one decision you have been trying to figure out for the next year. Set it down. Ask the Father, what is the bread for today? Then eat that. Tomorrow has its own manna.
