Through the lens of Young adult
The burning bush
The bush is the picture every young adult should carry around in their pocket.
You are at a season where almost every voice around you is selling you the same message: burn brighter, faster, hotter. Build the platform. Optimize the routine. Push the boundary. Stay hungry. Whatever you are doing, do more of it.
Most people who try to live like that get consumed. The fire is real. The fuel runs out. They burn up.
Exodus 3 paints a different picture. A bush that burns and is not consumed. The fire comes from somewhere outside the bush. The bush is not the source. The bush is the vessel. The fire is YHWH Himself, dwelling there.
You were made to burn — but to burn with a fire that comes from outside you. The fire of the Spirit is the only kind that does not eat its container.
One small thing today: in a place where you have been trying to manufacture your own fire — output, content, performance, perfection — stop. Sit. Ask the Father to be the fire in you instead. Watch what burns differently when He is the source.
