Through the lens of Woman

Jacob's ladder

The angels in Jacob’s dream are not standing still. They are ascending and descending — moving in both directions on the stairway. The traffic of heaven is two-way.

Most of us think of prayer as up. We send things up to God. He sends back the results. But the picture Genesis 28 gives is far more layered. Things are coming down. Help. Provision. Word from God. Conviction. Comfort. Even angels we cannot see, dispatched into our days. And things are going up. Our prayers, yes — but also our worship, our small acts of faithfulness, our quiet sufferings, our hidden tending.

There is a particular gift many women carry — the awareness of unseen traffic. A sense that something is happening below the surface. A read on a room that no one else has. A burden for someone they cannot stop praying for. An intuition that doesn’t come from anywhere they can name.

Some of that is the Father trusting you with the traffic of His house. The angels are still ascending and descending. He shares what He is up to with the women He calls.

One small thing today: when you sense one of those something is happening moments — pay attention. Ask the Father what He is doing. Pray. Reach out. Move. The traffic is real.
